We all know how great the Ford F-150 is. Perhaps the only downside to this fantastic truck is that every once in a while, you have to stop driving it to fill up on gas.
Fortunately, that problem will be a thing of the past with the new, fully electric 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, which is coming soon to Lester Glenn Ford.
2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Details
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning will come with two electric motors and either a standard- or extended-range battery. The smaller battery will pump out 426 horsepower, and that will increase to 563 horsepower with the bigger battery. Both batteries will give you 775 lb.-ft. of torque, and a one-speed automatic transmission comes standard as well.
Driving Range
According to Ford, the Ford F-150 Lightning will be able to last up to 230 miles on a full charge with the standard-range battery. With the extended-range battery, that range goes up to 300 miles.
However, a recent test found that those numbers may be much higher. A nifty feature of this truck is that it can supply your home with power for three days if there’s an outage, giving you extra power on the road and at home.
Towing and Hauling
The Ford F-150 Lightning can tow up to 7,700 pounds with the standard-range battery. When you opt for the extended-range unit, you will be able to tow up to 10,000 pounds. However, no matter which batter you go with, you will be able to haul up to 2,000 pounds.
Tech and Safety
The standard tech features in the Ford F-150 Lightning include Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration and a Wi-Fi hot spot. You will also get a very user-friendly infotainment system with a 12.0-inch touchscreen.
As for safety, lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking will all come standard with this electric Ford truck.
The Ford F-150 Lightning will be available at Lester Glenn Ford later this year, so keep checking our site for the latest updates!
